Picked up a uranium glass coffee cup today
@Laurelai
Do you know more about where/when it was manufactured?
I remember learning about old Fiestaware in the past, but I was unaware of (the likely very many) other instances of radioactive dining ware.
@cooler_ranch i dont, no
@cooler_ranch just looked it up. Vintage 1930s Sylvan Parrot Pattern Coffee Cup
@Laurelai Wow! That is amazing.
@Laurelai I have enough radioactive things laying around, a radioactive coffee cup isn't one of them.
@codeawayhaley what do you have
@Laurelai a shit load of rocks that are composed of mineral high in various radioactive enements (mostly uranium, thorium, and potassium I have a fair few felsic igneous rocks both intrusive, and extrusive so granite, diorite, andesite those kind of rocks, which are high in potassium silicates, and Zircon Microcrystal which are used for radiodating since they absorb uranium on formation, and exclude lead).
@Laurelai but why
