A lot of people don't realise it but Hallucinations and Pseudohallucinations are actually fairly common in the general population and not limited to psychosis.

The difference between a Hallucination and Pseudohallucination is the perception of how real it is, if you feel the sensory experience is not coming from external input it is a pseudohallucination, where as if you felt it was real then it is a hallucination.

Such phenomonon occur with pretty much everyone from time to time, most of the time it is something minor like a small visual disturbance, or hearing your named called when it is silent, occasionally it is more intense like Hypnogogic hallucination (which occur at the boundry between sleep and awake) and sleep paralysis.
